Friday 3rd December.
What a fantastic evening last night in Edenthorpe. The Christmas lights switch on was magical. Thank you to everyone for coming along and sharing this special event.
Huge thanks go to many people but the event would not have been possible without the driving force of Linda Laurie Ali. Linda you are a superstar.
Thank you to Reverend Tom for conducting the service, keeping everyone in the Christmas spirit with an excellent collection of carols, both traditional and modern. Same time next year please, you’ve got the job 🎤. Thank you Olivia Ward for opening up the song fest with a gorgeous rendition of The Christmas Song. Your voice is beautiful, yep, you’ve got the job – next year please 🎼🎤. Then came the big switch on after an excited countdown. Amy Bavin, our very own super hero, (who saved a young boys life whilst working at the local school on work experience) pushed the lever and the trees lit up providing a truely Christmassy atmosphere. There were many businesses and individuals who kindly donated mince pies, mulled wine , sweets and juice. Without these donations we couldn’t have done it. I will list these and put on Parish notice boards. Shop local, keep our businesses going.
Special thanks to Steve & Debbie Ward for putting up their snow machine and lighting, think everyone enjoyed seeing the snow flurries.
Lastly, thank you to Linda and all her family in the professional organisation and distribution of mulled wine, mince pies and juice, not forgetting the guys on kettle duty, Paul, Dave & Fred.
