Edenthorpe Community Centre is situated in Cedric Road opposite the junction with Rowena Avenue. Built in 1986, it replaced St Hilda’s Hall that had stood on the site for over 50 years. The construction of the new building was financed by local fundraising efforts organised by a working party of Edenthorpe residents and supplemented by grants from various sources.
The Centre is owned by Edenthorpe Parish Council, however, it is run by a very successful group of volunteers – ‘Edenthorpe Community Centre Association’, who are also a registered charity. This group (not Edenthorpe Parish Council) organise all the bookings and events.
