Edenthorpe is a parish in South Yorkshire within the area covered by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council. It straddles the A18 and is situated strategically close to the M18. Despite forming part of one of the county’s major towns it contains much agricultural land, woodland and open space.

It is a friendly and thriving community with a range of local shops, five public houses, a social club, parish church, post office, a community library and access to two major supermarkets. The population at the 2011 Census stood at 4,776, a slight increase on the 2001 figure.

The Parish Council meets on a monthly basis. The 9 Members of the Council are committed to providing and improving the facilities available to the residents of Edenthorpe. These include the very busy Community Centre in Cedric Road, the recently-built Howard Pavilion on the Church Balk playing fields and the Church Balk Centre in the same location. The allotments at Church Balk Gardens are much in demand.

This website forms an integral part of our communications strategy through which we hope to provide information about our services, supplementing the longstanding periodic newsletter delivered to all households in the parish.
