In memory of the late Pat A Cooney

Thank you to Mrs Cooney, for your very kind legacy, enabling these benches to be purchased and erected. Pat specified that her legacy should benefit The Howard Pavilion, Off Marian Rd, Edenthorpe. Edenthorpe Parish Council organised the four benches to be purchased and placed at the front of The Howard Pavilion for the benefit of Edenthorpe Junior Football Club and residents who use the area. These have already been enjoyed by many over the last few months to sit and either watch a match or just have a minute to rest and reflect.
Pat has been an active supporter of Edenthorpe Parish Council for a number of years. As a long standing Edenthorpe resident she has always cared deeply about our village and it’s surroundings. Pat supported the Parish Council in their objections to the planning application for 650 houses on the farmers fields – Land East of Mere Lane. Pat, alongside other Parish Councillors and members of the public attended the nine day hearing and was on first name terms with the Bristol Inspector. Sadly, that battle was lost. Pat passed away before the current works began. For those who knew Pat, I am sure will be able to picture her giving the builders some hassle.
Rest In Peace now Pat from all at Edenthorpe Parish Council.
