Christmas Light ‘Switch On’ Event

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday 2nd December to sing carols around the trees. It really was a wonderful evening where the village came together and enjoyed time having a chat, laughing and catching up with friends and neighbours.
Special thanks go to Olivia Ward for opening the evening with her beautiful rendition of Silent Night, in memory of our esteemed Chairman Fred Gee, who sadly passed away last month. Reverend Tom Brown led the service and looked after everyone with his repertoire of Christmas Songs.
Tyrone Ali gave thanks to those who donated towards the event and his wife Linda gave a moving tribute to Fred. Sadly, due to illness his beloved wife, Mary who was to switch on the Christmas lights, could not attend. Myself, Anne Flanagan switched on the lights with my granddaughter Amelia, in Mary’s absence and I thought about my very dear close friend – Fred you will be remembered always.
Huge thanks go to the following individuals and businesses for donations towards the evening. Without you this very unique event could not go ahead.
In no particular order thanks go to:
