It is with great sadness and regret that Edenthorpe Parish Council must convey the tragic news that our esteemed Chairman – Mr Fred W Gee sadly passed away on Wednesday 16th November 2022.

The Clerk and all the Parish Councillors wish to send his wife Mary and his beloved family our most sincere and deepest sympathy at this awful time. Fred was a true gentleman known by many, a gentle giant. The knowledge he had of the village and the great work he did for the community of Edenthorpe will be hard to follow. He will be remembered always.

‘Light switch on’ event.
Exciting news – We are planning our latest ‘switching on’ ceremony Friday 2nd December 2022 at 6.30pm on the green where Edenthorpe War Memorial is situated.

Residents of Edenthorpe – please come along and join us for this popular event where the community comes together once again to begin the festive period and the lights on the trees are switched on.

Mince pies, mulled wine, juice and sweets for the younger ones – free for all thanks to the many local businesses who are donating.

We will provide a list of those companies who have donated at a later date.
