Burglaries

I am sad to report that the allotments were broken into during the night of 20th December 2016. The incident was reported to the police. A number of sheds had their locks forced and broken, doors left open. Allotment holders were all informed by A Flanagan.

There have been a number of attempted break-ins throughout Edenthorpe during the Christmas period. Please make sure car doors are locked, do not leave your engine running while defrosting your car. This makes it easy for someone to jump in and drive off. It also invalidates your insurance.

At home, keep keys out of sight of prying eyes and leave lights on when out and about.

Happy New Year

The Parish Council would like to wish everyone a very happy New Year and hopes that you have all had a good Christmas, keeping safe and warm.

Our next Parish Council meeting will be held at The Community Centre, Cedric Rd, Edenthorpe on Monday 23rd January 2017, with the public invited at 7.15pm.

Edenthorpe Snickets.

Thank you Jenny!

Jenny hard at work.

A huge thank you goes to local resident Jenny Oxley.

Over the past months Jenny has worked tirelessly on our snickets which run from Ivanhoe Rd through to Mere Lane playing fields. She has removed dog excrement left by careless dog owners, dug out weeds and replanted the borders. These must be some of the best kept snickets in the area.

The village still has some residents who let their dogs foul the footpaths. Don’t let it be you, fines are hefty – pick up, bag it and bin it.

Grass verges

Grass Verges

Edenthorpe Parish Council would like to thank those who are considerate in parking their vehicles. so as not to cause damage to the grass verges around the village.

Sadly, the verge at the top of Cedric Road has once again been repeatedly driven across. This was re-seeded in the summer months and was looking in great condition.

Please take care of our grassed areas over the winter period.
